CENTER OF ALCOHOL STUDIES LIBRARY AND WEB 2.0

Introduction (Narrated Introduction/Philosophy/Etc.)

The following is a proposal to introduce Web 2.0 technologies to the new Center of Alcohol Studies (CAS) Library Website.  The Library is introducing a new webiste at the close of 2008 and would like to incorporate some Web 2.0 technologies in the new format.  Presently, Web 2.0 technologies are not part of the new website's design.  This is not a result of oversite, but instead an indication of time constraint during the design and construction process.

Web 2.0 applications can make the user experience at the CAS Library more enjoyable and can help to clarify the types of materials available at the Library.  Also, the intent is to boost the profile of the Center and Library through the new website.  Introducing web 2.0 applicaitons may help to foster new interest in the Center and Library. 

This proposal will focus on the Library's new website, not the entire Center website, though updating one will invariably aid the other.
